Stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!!
by: Anonymous

I hope you remain strong and focused for yourself and your kids. I had to battle the father of my kids as well in family court but I won. I really represented the fear that I have for him and that the children have been subjected to his abusive ways, your story sound too familiar to mine. Please live is respect.

Escaping domestic abuse - but the battle has just started
by: Anonymous

I too have lost my two sons to their domestically abusive father through court. I never reported my ex husbands behavior to the police. To the outside world we were a happy successful family, with a nice house and loving marriage. I was totally financially dependent on my husband and we lived in the the area he came from, 35 miles from my home town. I was isolated. Now through Women's Aid and the Freedom booklet I know this is common in abusive marriages. My greatest pain is my sons choosing to live with their Father. I left him to protect them and myself. Through contact their father encouraged them to return to live with him, in the former family home. My children were the most important people in my life and my ex-husband knew this. Unfortunately, having spoken to Women's Aid again, it is not uncommon for abusive ex partners to do this. My ex-husband said if i left him I could take nothing, after 11 years of marriage. To be honest he was right. He kept everything in the end. I am not rebuilding a new life for myself. I see my sons once a fortnight but at the moment they are very loyal to their father and my relationship with them is very strained.
