In the midst of surviving domestic violence encouragement is such a necessity. I asked my friend, Pastor David Katina if I could share some of his notes with you. Dave is an amazing story teller and wonderful at helping me keep things in perspective. Although he didn't originally write this note as domestic violence encouragement, it is delicious food for thought, a great read and very encouraging!!
“Created From Dust but Destined to Reign”
By Pastor David Katina
I started my 2010 daily Bible reading again in Genesis. The wisdom of God never ceases to amaze me! Check this out...The Creation is actually divided into 2 phases. First,(day1-day3) God creates the "REALM" . Day 1- Light, Day 2- Sky and Oceans and Day 3- Dry lands. Secondly, (day 4- day 6) God then creates the "RULER". Day 4- Sun, Moon and Stars, Day 5- Birds and Fish and Day 6- Animals and people. God intended for the RULER to REIGN over the REALM!
Technically, the last of God's creation was the "woman". Up until the woman came the "brotha" was single and oh yeah, "working" in the garden...God gave the dude a JOB before giving him a WOMAN...very important detail! When Adam woke up out of his deep sleep, he saw something he'd never seen before and the first words that came out of his mouth was, "Wo! Man!" That's where the word "woman" comes from. Just Kidding!!! Eve came from the "womb" of a "man".
Now here's the kicker! Of the two phases, the REALM and the RULER, Eve came under the category of the RULER. If she was created as part of the REALM, Adam would have been given the permission to RULE over her but God knew exactly what Adam (and all of us) needed. He needed someone to LOVE because he already had things to RULE over. We REIGN in life through LOVE! People come into your life so you can love them. Those same people might hurt you, misunderstand you and even abandon you but remember, "If U wanna reign, U gotta LOVE. "THE FACT THAT GOD CREATED US FROM DUST IS NO REASON TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE DIRT!" *HaVeAgr8LiFe!!!*
I hope you enjoyed this note as much as I did. Although it was written for people going through many different situations, it is perfect as domestic violence encouragement. I hope you are encouraged, able to start looking forward, and dreaming big.
Only you know when it is safe to leave your domestic violence situation, or
