Abused 4 Years. Then He Shot Me In The Head

I was a victim of domestic violence for nearly four years. To make a long story short, I was feed up with the abuse and decided to leave. A week after leaving, my now ex-husband called me on a Friday and stated, "You will not live to see your birthday." My birthday was on that next Wednesday. I hung the phone up and contacted the investigator assigned to my case. I explained to him that I had just received a call from my ex-husband stating that I would not live to see my birthday. The investigator replied, "Let me try to contact him". To this day I haven't heard from the investigator, and that call was in 1997.

That Monday my ex-husband came into my place of employment, pulled the gun out of his pocket, press the gun against the left side of my head, and pulled the trigger.

Even though I had a protection order in place, pressed charges for stalking and assault, had all of the legal documents, and kept the investigator informed, it did not stop him from coming to a financial institution to commit the crime. He received a ninety-nine year sentence. I am so grateful and humble to be alive. Every second is a precious moment for me. I thank God that He protected me. (No Weapon Formed against Me Shall Prosper).
Humbly,
